Innovative partnerships between "unlikely allies" can help to make resource development sustainable. This web portal presents six Canada-based case studies of such partnerships, comprising resource companies and their community and environmental group stakeholders. It was developed to generate discussion on these and other partnerships, to share experiences on what helps and hinders cross-sector collaboration, and to prompt ideas for new case studies.
You can download the case studies individually or as a compendium. The research was first presented at Pembina's Unlikely Allies: Cross-Sector Partnerships for Sustainable Development conference in November, 2007, and was prepared in collaboration with Dalhousie University.
Share your opinion!
We invite visitors to post their comments on the case studies. To do so, visit the case studies pages. To share your stories with different examples of cross-sector collaboration, or if you have a suggestion for future case study research, please submit it to our website.
With your help, we can expand understanding of how companies, communities, landowner associations and environmental groups are working together to achieve sustainable development goals of mutual interest.
